ICYMI: IRPP’s Futureproofing Canada podcast discusses rural Canada

Rural Prosperity Group Honorary Chair Candice Bergen says rural Canada has long been overlooked by governments and corporations. “I was very fortunate to have grown up in a rural community. I believe so strongly in the benefits of rural Canada to our country,” Bergen said in a recent podcast interview with the IRPP’s CEO Jennifer Ditchburn.

Bergen said she has been speaking with rural Canadians to gather stories about the successes and challenges they face. “Rural Canadians are not looking for a handout; they're not looking for special treatment. They just don't want — whether it's policy or whether it's even business practices — that are inadvertently hurting rural Canadians more than anyone else,” she said.
