Navarana Beveridge is focusing on listening, learning and collaboration as she begins her new role as chief executive officer of Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI).
In an interview with CBC, Beveridge outlined plans to address housing shortages and food insecurity.
“Not one organization can deal with the issues before us. Partnership with various organizations, both government and the regional Innu associations and everyone else will be really key to make positive change in their communities,” she said.
Beveridge brings approximately two decades of experience working with Inuit organizations, including negotiating the Mary River Project Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement and overseeing the development of a research and training centre in Pond Inlet.
Raised in Greenland, Beveridge has lived in Nunavut for about 30 years and was appointed Denmark's honorary consul in Nunavut in 2021.
