Canada’s forest sector launches new data tools to highlight economic impact

The Forest Products Association of Canada has launched a new Economic Impact Dashboard offering a real-time, data-driven view of the forest sector’s role in Canada’s economy, using data from Statistics Canada.

The platform tracks key indicators including employment, GDP, exports, lumber production, and rail volumes, highlighting the industry’s position as a major employer and exporter.

FPAC also introduced an interactive map showing where nearly 200,000 forest sector workers are located across rural and urban communities nationwide.

FPAC says the new tools are designed to make reliable information more accessible to policymakers, media, industry stakeholders, and the public.
